Basic Life Support
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) course is designed to train healthcare professionals, public safety personnel and other professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants.
Content reflects the latest American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and recommendations of the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council (SAC)
This course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.
Students receive hands-on training with manikins using “feedback” technology, practice using a pocket mask for both adults and infants, use a bag valve mask (bvm), learn to attach the AED (automated external defibrillator) pads using a trainer AED unit and work together in “team” scenarios on adult and infant manikins.
